Whether you work for a large corporation or own a small business you need to understand your customers and have a way to hear their voice. With the advent of social media we are able to interact in numerous ways around the clock. Customer service has changed a lot and some large companies have struggled to maintain the high level of service they once did. On the other hand, some companies have been creative and really excelled in this new landscape!

Zappos is one of those companies. They make sure they give over-the-top customer service to their customers AND their employees! When you can’t see your customer service representative face-to-face they have to work even harder to create a relationship with someone over the phone or just through the web. Their customer relationship management must be top notch and usually starts with having happy and motivated employees. The e-retailers known for their customer service, do have strong positive cultures and encourage their employees to have fun at work.

 Happy employees = Productive Employees

Watch the video above to see what it’s all about!

If you stay up to speed with the way social media can help keep the conversation open than this is a really exciting time for you.  Social media is great way to create loyal customers and reach new audiences.

In today’s world you must include social media in your customer service strategy in order to stay relevant with your customers!

The company that is always “tweeting” you right is here for round 202 - Twitter 202 that is. With the knowledge from Twitter 101 still in your memory, be ready to expand upon it to make the most of your social media experience.

One useful tool that many aren’t aware of is a free directory called Twellow.com, which is self-titled as the “Twitter Yellowpages.” Twellow allows users to sign up and places them in categories & subcategories based on their profile & tweets. They also allow users to place themselves in several different categories with room for change. For example, as Gielow Marketing & PR, we are placed in the following categories:

    • Marketing

    • Public Relations

    • Internet Marketing

    • Social Media Management

  • Social Media Marketing

But, why is Twellow worth the effort? Because Twellow has a great key factor: Location. People could search for PR in Jacksonville, FL on Twellow and find Gielow Marketing & PR on the list. Moreover, because people who use Twellow must be connected to a Twitter account, they can follow and tweet who they find instantly, resulting in fast, easy business!

Twellow is not the only Twitter directory out there, but it was the first and largest created.  The best Twitter directories are free and don’t require any kind of downloaded program, but they are constantly changing – as is the rest of the world of social media. For additional help and info, look to the company that’s always ready and willing to “tweet you right!”

Twitter and SMS (text) messages are two forms of communication limited to 140-characters. Part of Twitter’s early success was based on the fact that any cell phone user could text a command to Twitter’s special number, “40404,” and control their personal Twitter feed. Learn how to optimize your Twitter usage by understanding the Twitter & SMS partnership.
